Vietnam RWA Summit 2026, held in Hanoi on July 18-19th, brought 5,000 delegates, opened up a multi-stakeholder policy dialogue forum and connected ecosystems. It also helped promote the development of a legal framework, attract international investment, and position Vietnam as a regional RWA hub in the 2026-2030 period.
The summit was organized by State Securities Commission of Vietnam (SSC), Vietnam Blockchain and Digital Assets Association (VBA), National Cybersecurity Association (NCA) and Vietnam Real Estate Association (VNREA). It featured more than 60 speakers and experts from 12 countries, alongside representatives from over 100 organizations and businesses.

Mr. Bui Hoang Hai, Vice Chairman of SSC, said RWA could unlock resources that have remained dormant. However, the market could only develop sustainably with a clear legal framework, transparent capital flows, secure infrastructure and effective investor-protection mechanisms.
Colonel Dr. Nguyen Hong Quan, Deputy Director of Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention, Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security, emphasized that cybersecurity should not be viewed as an obstacle. Rather, it is a prerequisite for sustainable innovation and for building market confidence.

Mr. Phan Duc Trung, Chairman of VBA, noted that capital inflows into RWA increased by approximately 300% in 2025, significantly outpacing those recorded across other asset classes. However, the main constraint preventing the market from reaching its full potential was not tokenization technology itself, but the absence of a sufficiently robust foundation of trust within the capital market.
The market architecture should be developed in a clear sequence: beginning with real-world assets, followed by trusted data infrastructure and their digital representations under an appropriate legal framework, before tokens and distribution channels are introduced.
Licensing five domestic digital asset exchanges would represent only an initial step. More critical considerations include supervisory capacity, anti-money laundering controls, data verification and comprehensive risk management.
Experts at the summit broadly agreed that Vietnam’s opportunity lies not simply in tokenizing a greater number of assets, but in building an integrated ecosystem in which regulation, data, technology, services, security and human capital develop in parallel.
Such an ecosystem would provide the foundation for RWA and digital assets to become new channels for mobilizing capital, supporting business-model innovation and connecting Vietnamese assets with international sources of.
The event demonstrated that Vietnam is increasingly bringing together the institutional framework, infrastructure, technology and resources needed to emerge as a new regional destination for digital asset capital, said Pham Nguyen Toan, Vice-Chairman of VNREA.
